Savitrijoti (2020) – Sony Marathi

This is a biopic based on the life of great reformist couple Savitribai Phule and Mahatma Jotiba Phule. Both the Indian leaders had a very strong individual identity and we have always known their work and contribution individually. This show takes us through the unseen aspects of their shared vision as a couple and their joint fight against the archaic social fabric of those times. The show brings to light the love, respect and sense of equality in their relation which is aspirational in today’s time as well. The show is an ode to this liberating couple. It is a must-watch for every Indian and imbibes the values that the couple shared.
