Albeit its effort to offer a progressive narrative with taboo topics like remarrying and age-gap relationships, the screenplay is criticized for resorting to implausible coincidences as well as stereotypical tropes. The ending of the main conflict is abrupt and not explored deeply, which takes the toll off the emotional value of the film. The integration of Western cultural practices in addition to Marathi family traditions is regarded as uneven and sometimes unnatural.
The movie is recognized for strong performances from the central cast, especially Prasad Oak in the role of Jaidev, and pleasing aesthetics in set and costume design. Yet, there are several reviews that point out the script and dialogue are mediocre and the emotional depth of the film could have been much greater with a more subtle script.
