Dashavtar (2025)

Babuli Mestri is an aged, respected performer of the traditional "Dashavatar" folk theatre in a Konkan village. Despite his failing eyesight, he is deeply connected with his art and agrees to give one final performance-on Mahashivratri-provided his son, Madhav, finds a job.

Madhav, educated but desperate for work, falls in love with Vandana. Through her, he meets a powerful man named Sarmalkar who runs a mining project in the area. Madhav joins Sarmalkar's company, hoping this will secure his future and fulfill his father's condition. However, he soon finds that the mining is destroying sacred forest land that the villagers revere - land they believe is protected by a divine guardian.

The conflict escalates as Madhav opposes the mining. On the night of Babuli's final performance, Madhav's world is turned upside down: he is found dead in the forest, and made to look like a suicide. Grief-stricken but resolute, Babuli and Vandana join in a quest to unfold the truth. As the mystery unfolds, Babuli's stage personas start reflecting reality through the ten avatars of Vishnu, merging mythology with reality.

Faith, tradition, and justice come together in this spiritual and cultural battle. Babuli draws on the power and symbolism of the Dashavatar performances, yet he has been using them to fight for his son's honor, a better future of the village, and nature protection.
