She is born in Pune. Prajakta Mali’s residence is in Mumbai Maharashtra. Prajakta Mali made her Movie debut in 2013 with Marathi film Kho- Kho. Prajakta learning bharatnatyam since the age of 7, She got distinction in all the exams of Dance-bharatnatyam from Akhil Bharatiya Gandharva Mahavidyalaya including "Visharad". She had completed her graduation and masters from Lalit Kala Kendra of Pune University, and She was the university topper. From 2008 She is performing in Pune Navratri Festival, Pune Festival, Shanivar Wada Mahotsav, Pune Police Kartavya Melava etc. For the first time, Prajakta faced the camera on the sets of "Dholkichya Talawar (DD Shahyadri). At that time she was in the 6th std. Prajakta also Choreographed and performed for the 1st time on Diwali Special Episode of "Dum-Duma-Dum on DD Shahyadri".
